Clean Energy Spotlight: Jill Anderson

Our latest #cleanenergyspotlight has moved across the country helping some of our biggest cities jumpstart their #cleanenergy transitions. But first: do you know someone who deserves recognition for their work on #cleanenergy? Nominate them in the comments below!

Our latest #cleanenergyspotlight is Southern California Edison’s Executive Vice President of Operations, Jill Anderson. A 20-year #cleanenergy veteran, Jill has dedicated her career to providing cities like New York and Los Angeles with expanded access to accessible, reliable #cleanenergy.

Jill has traveled the entire country to promote and advance clean energy solutions to America’s energy crisis, helping to grow the #cleanenergy industry at the New York Power Authority, Hess, and now with SCE. As far back as 2005, Jill was in on the ground floor of the #cleanenergy transition, working to modernize and transform NYC’s grid to a more sustainable model.

In her previous role as EVP of Customer Service, Jill played a major role in ensuring that her customers were protected from the growing threat of wildfires throughout Southern California. From 2018-2022, Jill helped SCE reduce its grid’s risk from catastrophic wildfire damage by 65%. Jill’s customer service work is just one of many examples of her commitment to ensuring California families are able to benefit from the #cleanenergy services they need to power their homes, reduce their energy costs, and stay safe from the mounting consequences of climate change.

Her work, though, has focused as much on proactive action against future threats as much as it has to responses to the ones we already face. In 2018, she led SCE’s five-point Green Program initiative, helping to expand Californians’ access to #cleanenergy. Jill’s work helped encourage more and more investors to engage the #cleanenergy industry and made affordable #cleanenergy available more households throughout the region.

With a pedigree like hers, it’s no surprise that she always has an eye on the future. Jill is “driven to encourage young women and men to pursue STEM careers,” she says.

With role models like her, we can expect nothing but great things from the next generation of #cleanenergy leaders!
