Clean Energy for America Statement on Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee Hearing on DOE Loans

(Washington, D.C.) – Today, the U.S. Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee hosted a hearing on U.S. Department of Energy competitive grants and loans, funded via President Biden’s Affordable Clean Energy Plan. In response, CE4A Executive Director Andrew Reagan issued the following statement:

“This hearing is a misleading distraction from the real story that should be told: The Biden-Harris administration’s clean energy loan programs are creating hundreds of thousands of U.S. jobs while ensuring American energy dominance.

“Instead of looking to score cheap political points by threatening American clean energy jobs, policymakers like Chair Joe Manchin should be focused on finding ways to help onshore all aspects of production and doing so in a way that won’t undermine the progress we’ve already made.”
